Our
Solutions
At Salvesen, we use the latest technologies to continuously improve the quality of our services and increase productivity.
We have many and varied solutions because our main goal is to adapt to the needs of each and every one of our customers, without ever losing sight of process standardisation.
Management Systems
Warehouse
Management Systems
At our facilities, we use a robust and configurable warehouse management system allowing to manage the different complexities of our customers in the most standard possible way. It enables the management of dates and batches, holding and release, as well as different types of preparation, including complete pallets, boxes, units, etc. as well as preparation against stock and tight flow rotation.
The warehouse management system in place enables connectivity with other operations devices, such as programmable logic controllers, AGVs, PTL or PTV; other management systems including TMS; or with our customers and our customers’ customers (EDI, EDIMAP...).
Thanks to our technology, we manage processes such as receipt, warehousing, preparation, co-packing, shipment and confirmation of delivery.
Picking
to Light
“Pick-to-light” technology is a system that visually guides operators to the exact locations in the warehouse where they can pick up the items of an order.
It is a great solution for managing small warehouse operations, such as preparing units or micro-picking, while guaranteeing maximum reliability and the quality of preparation.
Capillarity and small orders are two of our specialties. Because of this, pick-to-light is one of the technologies most valued by customers who want the best option for small businesses and e-commerce.

Picking
to Voice
We use the most advanced voice technology applied to logistics processes in order to improve the productivity and quality of our services.
In addition to increasing productivity, we almost entirely eliminate the learning curve for operators, who are capable of switching between radio frequency or voice picking within minutes.

Picking
by Radio Frequency
In addition to more advanced PTL or PTV technologies, we also use standard radiofrequency technologies at all of our warehouses. Using radiofrequency technology allows us to avoid any manual manoeuvres in the logistics process, from receipt to preparation and the shipment of merchandise.

Management System
Salvesen Logística manages more than 1,000 trailers daily, which move between our logistics hubs strategically located across Spain and Portugal and our cross-docking partners.
All of these flows are managed by our transportation management system (TMS).

Management
We use technology that has been entirely developed by Salvesen to digitise our customers’ documentation and make it available to them via a user-friendly and intuitive interface.
Customer and Supplier Portal:
CSI
Our “Comprehensive Services Centre” is an internally-developed application that contains information on customers and suppliers, offering a quick overview of the state of orders in real time.
These services include the digitisation of documentation, photos of stock, the management of holding and release and incident logging.
Automation and Mechanisation
Automatic
Chambers
The merchandise storage and handling solutions that we use at our facilities are based on state-of-the-art technology.
One example of this technology is automatic chambers, which, through their smart trans-elevators, facilitate a broad variety of warehouse movements.
These chambers can execute placement, location, extraction, layout change, and error correction orders, among others. In addition, these tools have an automatic location learning functionality, which makes the process even easier.
These devices are highly efficient and reliable, making excellent inventory control possible. Given that we are continuously incorporating new operations, this gives us maximum accuracy and optimizes our spaces.
This type of technology is available at our Seville, Barcelona and Valencia warehouses, carrying out storage operations for our customers’ nearby factories.

Unloading
We have automated processes for unloading merchandise.
The daily flow of trucks through our bays requires smart tools to provide seamlessness and agility of movement in order to meet the needs of our operations. These tools are especially suitable for manufacturers located near our facilities.

RFID Trilateral
Forklifts
Trilateral forklifts are smart forklifts designed to optimise the movement of merchandise at warehouses.
They are a flexible solution that contributes to increasing the productivity, security and services offered as a part of our operations. They are very effective for managing large-scale storage operations, with large volumes of stock and the movement of complete pallets.
This technology is particularly effective for large platforms such as Barcelona, whose strategic location and variety of working temperatures makes it an ideal warehouse for storing large stocks of merchandise circulating between the Iberian Peninsula and the remainder of Europe.

Infrastructure
Salvesen’s logistics hubs are connected to local networks that communicate with one another and the outside world. We also have a state-of-the-art data centre located in Alcalá de Henares (TIER IV certification), which houses the company’s IT Department.
We maintain strategic relationships with the main global IT players.
All of this is possible thanks to a cloud-based server farm that uses dynamic load balancing technology to adapt to our daily peak workloads to guarantee correct operation and ideal performance.
EDI
EDIFACT
EDIMAP
EDI
Electronic data interchange is the structured transmission of data between organisations via electronic means. It is used to send electronic documents or business data from one IT system to another. This interchange can be carried out in different formats, including EDIFACT, XML, ANSI ASC X12, TXT, etc.
Receipts, orders, delivery confirmations, stock, adjustments and more are sent directly from and to our customers with the same security and guarantee.
EDIFACT
EDIFACT is a United Nations standard for the global interchange of business documents. There also exist secondary standards for each business sector (distribution, the automotive industry, transportation, customs, etc.) or for each country. For example, the AECOC regulates the EDI standard for the distribution sector.
Salvesen uses the most powerful engines for the syntax-directed translation of different messages, in which we adapt to the guidelines of our customers at all times.
EDIMAP
We use and work with thousands of transactions daily, in every existing format on the market. Salvesen Logística also possesses a powerful software tool developed entirely in-house –EDIMAP- which is capable of interacting with any type of Excel or CSV file in any format, with the same speed and simplicity as would be the case with an EDI message in the strict sense.
